My own extraction experiment...
The guy who found out about heat extraction from CPU's
as a improved method of cooling, Baldy, gave me the inspiration for
my own experiment.
Baldy's first setup and his review can be found at Lost
Circuits.
Here I am going to put up some of my own pictures and
thoughts about extraction in an AOpen HX 08 Tower case, only as a small
guide in how I did to reduce the CPU and case heat. So far I'm not even
close to Baldy's results for the CPU, maybe I won't reach those scores
either but....

The whole case... well the secondary hdd missing.
But my, does the HX08 have lots of room... Yet no place for a fan
on the back of the case, only at the top above the p/s... |

Well, here it is... my first Extraction unit. A few things to
improve for me to get even better performance: tighter down at
the bottom, so the air really gets in at the bottom of the heatsink.
Turning it around 90 degrees to get the air straight out of the
case without using the power supply's fan...
Has to give it some more time. But so far I haven't payed a single
$ for this setup and it's a few degrees cooler than before, both
the case and the CPU...
The white cable is a thermal probe, measuring the temp of outgoing
air. At this moment, 33c. Mobo temp 28c and CPU temp 39c. And
yes, this is with the case cover on...
